“Be with those who bring out the best in you, not the stress in you.”
Julia Rhodes is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She decided to become a therapist to ensure that people have the support they need when they need it the most. As she would tell you, she’s always been the person people turn to for talking things through, so she has naturally considered herself a therapist for years.
Julia joined Willis CC with a wealth of experience from her time as a therapist at a psychiatric hospital, where she assisted guests with a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, PTSD, and schizophrenia. At Willis CC, she’s excited to work with guests from overlooked populations who often receive limited resources and support, so they know someone genuinely cares and wants to help. That said, she looks forward to assisting any guests who need support.
Those who know Julia best would describe her as compassionate, supportive, and thoughtful. Guests can expect Julia’s caring, laid-back approach, where she brings humor to sessions and maintains an empathetic, non-judgmental environment. She believes therapy allows people to take control of their lives in new ways, building the tools needed to face life’s challenges and find contentment and satisfaction.
A Colorado native, Julia enjoys singing, watching Broadway musicals, and getting deeply invested in cheering for her favorite sports teams. A vegetarian for nearly 20 years—much to her parents’ surprise—she also has two cats and considers herself a devoted reader, particularly of fantasy books.
