Email about Jesse

Jesse Mercer is a grounded and passionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker, extending his services to individuals, kids over the age of 10, and young adults. Holding a Master’s degree in Social Work from Colorado State University, Jesse employs a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Stages of Change, Strength-based Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care (TIC) in his therapeutic approach.

Specializing in areas such as ADHD, adoption-related issues, anger, anxiety, and self-esteem, Jesse is adept at addressing school and college issues, crises, and self-injury concerns. He has valuable experience in working with both adults and minors dealing with anxiety and depression in school and community-based settings.

Jesse’s passion for therapy stems from his empathy towards the pain people carry every day and his recognition of the need for supportive listeners. Driven by Martin Luther King Jr.’s mantra, “The time is always right to do what is right,” he places immense value on the connections he forms with his clients, fostering a non-judgmental and trusting therapeutic environment.

His approach is rooted in strength-based therapy, using CBT and MI to promote direct conversation, encourage personal growth, and equip his clients with strategies to function with increased awareness and confidence in their social, work, and family environments. His diverse experience and ability to meet guests where they are make him a preferred choice for many seeking support.

Outside the therapy room, Jesse is a devoted father to his 4-year-old son and a 6-year-old Chocolate Lab. He is an avid traveler, having lived in five countries, and loves to swim in the ocean in his free time. Currently licensed to practice in Colorado and Arizona, Jesse’s mix of professional expertise, international experience, and genuine care for his clients make him a standout in his field.

He is currently accepting new guests virtually in Colorado and Arizona.
