Email about Yekaterina

Katya is a licensed professional clinical counselor who earned her master’s degree in Clinical Professional Counseling from Roosevelt University. In addition to having enjoyed psychology classes in school, Katya decided to become a therapist because she wanted a career that offered the opportunity to make a genuine difference in people’s lives. To her, there’s nothing like seeing people grow and gain insight into their lives.

Previously, Katya worked with individuals with myriad mental health symptoms. At Willis CC, she looks forward to working with adults of all ages and populations who are ready to make changes in their lives and gain a better understanding of their behaviors. Those who know Katya best would describe her as kind, reliable, trustworthy, loyal, and blunt. She values therapy for guests because it’s an experience where they can open up and discover something new about themselves. Also, it helps reveal how resilient they are, how coping skills can be helpful, and how a different mindset can assist with overcoming challenges.

Originally from Ukraine, Katya grew up in Illinois, loves life in the city, and describes herself as Jewish but not religious. In her spare time, you can find her volunteering with One Tail at a Time, or spending time with her boyfriend, her dog (Dani), and her cat (Drogo). She also loves cooking and watching cooking shows. One day, she hopes to run a marathon.

“Definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing expecting different results.”
