Email about Jessica Krock

Jessica “Jess” Krock is a licensed clinical social worker who received her Master of Social Work degree from Loyola after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

She understands what it means to come to therapy & knows therapy can work if you’re willing to do the work. Asking for help & getting to that first therapy session is brave as it is the initial step on a significant journey that can be life changing. Therapy is not a quick fix, but allows individuals to process issues at a comfortable pace within a safe, nonjudgmental & warm environment. There is so much going on in our busy lives that it can feel like there’s no time to breathe. Jessica believes having dedicated & uninterrupted time to reflect & receive support through life’s hardships is so important for our overall wellness. It never fails to amaze her how resilient humans can be.

Jess’ experience centers around trauma, anxiety, depression, mood disorders, eating disorders, developmental disabilities, life transitions & issues within the LGBTQ+ community. In working with guests, she is person-centered & relational, utilizing a combination of approaches including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness & Grounding techniques.

Her ideal guest is the kind of person who’s open to being curious about themselves & to learning & growing. Jess believes everyone is the expert on their own experience & welcomes guests’ thoughts on what they feel they need. She also enjoys working with those who are different from her & can share alternative perspectives on the world.

Jess adores nature, bike riding, yoga, baking, plant-based food & all things cats. She is currently accepting new guests at our Wicker Park studios.
