Helen Aw, LPC
Helen is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master’s of Education in Counseling at DePaul University. She decided to become a therapist because she wants to facilitate others’ self-understanding on a deeper level. She offers the guests the space to freely express themselve or try out new versions of themselves without judgment. Those who know her best would describe her as someone who is thoughtful and thorough.
Previously, Helen has worked with relationships and workplace stress, bicultural conflicts, college major and career decision-making as well as everyday concerns. She has worked with a diverse pool of guests, helping them to perform at their best level.
Helen values therapy for people because she thinks that self-awareness is powerful; as she believes that it shines a light into your inner world and helps effect change. She also thinks that her role as a therapist is to be your mirror, enabling your capacity to notice your internal thoughts and feelings, and understanding them in a constructive and compassionate way. Helen has used multiple treatment modalities including CBT, Existential therapy, Integrative approach drawing mostly from person-centered therapy and MBTI principles.
In her spare time, Helen likes climbing aerial silks and driving her jeep with the top down! Her favorite quote is from Socrates “The unexamined life is not worth living”.
Helen is currently accepting new guests.
