Erika Perez, LPC
Erika Perez is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a diverse educational background, including a Bachelor’s degree in English, a Master’s in Creative Writing, and a Master’s in School Counseling from Roosevelt University. Erika’s compassionate and person-centered approach has been shaped by her experience working as a special education classroom assistant, where she saw the unmet needs of students, both in special and general education. Her passion for helping others, especially those dealing with trauma, led her to pursue a career in counseling.
Erika provides therapy to individuals, families, and young adults, with a focus on children and teenagers. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), while also integrating Expressive Arts Therapy, Family Therapy, and Harm Reduction Therapy. Erika’s empathetic, kind, and affectionate nature allows her to connect with her clients on a deep level, helping them to feel heard and supported.
Specializing in areas such as ADHD, Autism, depression, trauma, and family conflict, Erika is known for her active listening skills and non-judgmental approach. She is passionate about helping her clients develop the tools and skills necessary to reach their goals and face life’s challenges with confidence.
Outside of her professional work, Erika enjoys reading fiction, ice skating, and traveling when possible. She has a yellow belt in karate, lived in China for two months, and is a first-generation Mexican-American.
