Email about Elizabeth

Elizabeth “Liz” Gaddis is a licensed professional counselor who earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Benedictine University and trained to become certified alcohol and drug counselor at the College of DuPage. She became a therapist to help people find contentment, gain understanding, and grow—in addition to helping them find the inner strength to face their issues head-on. She loves watching guests become empowered and take ownership over their lives and circumstances.

Before joining Willis CC, Liz gained invaluable experience as a behavioral health specialist providing therapy to guests at a residential treatment center. At Willis CC, she looks forward to working with young adults dealing with relationship or work issues, anxiety, and eating disorders, as well as those exploring their identities. That said, she also enjoys working with students, teens, professionals, parents, or anyone going through life transitions.

Those who know Liz best would describe her as passionate, trustworthy, intuitive, honest, easygoing, funny, and supportive. Liz uses a laidback, supportive, unconditionally accepting approach to help guests figure out whatever it is that they need to do to improve their lives. In her opinion, there’s nothing like the sight of seeing guests have their “aha” moment, so she’s ready and open to exploring anything that guests want to discuss.

In addition to singing, acting, and playing board games, Liz loves doing fun activities with friends, like ax throwing and going to concerts or plays. She’s mother to a little girl who bowls in a league with her husband every Friday night and describes her ideal time away as a Wonder Lake escape with friends and family at her family’s lakehouse—out on the lake all day and capped off with a nighttime bonfire.

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
