Elizabeth ¨Liz¨ Gaddis
Elizabeth “Liz” Gaddis is a licensed professional counselor who earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology at Benedictine University and trained to become certified alcohol and drug counselor at College of DuPage. Those who know her best would describe her as outgoing, caring, light-hearted, empathetic, funny, and genuine. Liz became a therapist to help people find contentment, understanding, and growth—in addition to finding their inner strength to face their issues head-on. She loves watching guests become empowered and take ownership over their lives and circumstances.
As a therapist at Willis CC, Liz is looking forward to working with guests with dual diagnosis, substance abuse issues, a history of trauma, mood struggles, disordered eating behaviors, and those going through life transitions. She works with students, teens, professionals, and parents. Her clinical experience is broad and most guests experience her as very down to earth.
Liz uses a person-centered approach that focuses on meeting the individual where they are at, coupled with treatment modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Meditation, Mindfulness, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT).
In her spare time, Liz loves to sing and act, and she’s been participating in community theater for the last few years. She also loves fun activities with friends, such as ax throwing and going to concerts or plays. She’s mother to a little girl, and she bowls in a league with her husband every Friday night. Her ideal time off work would be spent at her family’s lakehouse with her family and friends, out on the lake all da and having a bonfire at night.
Liz is currently accepting new guests via telehealth.
