Email about Alyssa

Alyssa Cline is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her master’s degree in Social Work from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She decided to become a therapist after working as a caseworker in foster care for years and wanting to spend more time helping the parents and children process hard situations.

Alyssa’s previous experience includes working with people experiencing depression and anxiety, as well those battling addictions and in crisis. At Willis CC, she’s excited to work with individuals and families, including children and young adults (18-35 yrs. old). She simply loves being a part of peoples’ growth and helping them understand themselves. Those who know Alyssa well describe her as funny, talkative, and compassionate.

As a therapist, she uses a person-centered approach that puts guests in the driver’s seat to work through stressors and get to the point of self-discovery. It’s a guided approach with emphasis on the guests’ goals, taking the appropriate time to validate their experiences and understand their truths. Hailing from a tiny farm town in Southern Illinois, Alyssa loves cooking and trying new foods, playing with her two rescue dogs—one of which is completely deaf—and exploring different coffee shops.

“You’re allowed to make a big deal out of things that feel like a big deal to you.”
