Adele Ackert, LCSW
Adele Ackert received her Masters degree in social work from Aurora University & spent 3 years working with teenage girls involved in the child welfare system who have experienced significant childhood trauma. However, she has experience working with all ages on areas such as significant life changes (divorce, death, moving, etc.) as well as crisis work, trauma & abuse.
While Adele has spent a lot of time in the field working with teenagers, she looks forward to working with people of all ages & walks of life. She enjoys helping others dealing with life transitions or stressors, as well as those who are experiencing depression, anxiety, or trauma. She specializes in trauma-informed work & incorporates Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) & Acceptance & Commitment (ACT) skills into therapy.
Adele believes seeking out therapy & asking for help is one of the bravest things someone can do. The most impactful moments of her career have been seeing those that she works with learn new skills, thrive & take back their lives. She feels privileged to be in a profession that can assist people along their life journey.
Aside from loving the work she does, Adele also loves animals and has 3 pets of her own – 2 cats & a guinea pig (Fruit Loop, Boo & Ginny). She’s a big Harry Potter fan & a Slytherin at heart (but not an evil one) & is married to a Hufflepuff. She spent a few months living in London & traveling around Europe. She hopes to one day continue her adventures around the world.
Adele is currently accepting new guests at our Naperville studio.
