Kathleen M Sherlock, LPC
Kathleen is a licensed clinical professional counselor who earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from National Louis University. Those who know her best would describe her as warm, friendly, accessible, and light-hearted. She decided to become a therapist when she was working as an ESL tutor and saw so many people struggling with problems that went well beyond their need for language skills; it inspired her to become a counselor and help empower others to heal, build strength, and reach for their best lives.
Previously, Kathleen worked with adults and adolescents in inpatient, residential, and private practice settings, and she has postgraduate training in Addictions and Trauma. At Willis CC, she looks forward to helping guests overcome challenges such as Depression, Anxiety, Addictions, Self-Esteem, School Refusal/Performance Anxiety, Life Transitions, and Spirituality.
As she believes strongly in the uniqueness of each individual, Kathleen is primarily a Person-Centered Therapist, although she incorporates other approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Informed Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems.
In her spare time, Kathleen loves baking and hiking. She would love to live in Canada one day, and she’s a bird mom to a Jazz and Blues-loving parakeet. Before becoming a counselor, Kathleen worked as a tutor, travel agent, and pastry chef, so it’s not surprising that her dream non-counseling job would be to run her own bakery.
Kathleen is currently accepting new guests at all of our studios and via telehealth.
